PREAMBLE: The policies, procedures, and guidelines contained herein, cover the use of ALL computing devices attached to the UGA Athletic Association and the UGA computer network.

PURPOSE: In order to facilitate effective, efficient and timely service to our employees and to maintain a professional working environment, a set of policies and procedures have been developed. These policies and procedures apply to ALL University of Georgia Athletic Association employees, graduate assistants, student assistants, and any other person receiving compensation from the UGA Athletic Association. Except for extenuating circumstances as determined by the Athletic Director, no item of these policies and procedures may be enacted outside the guidelines described herein. If such a need arises wherein this procedure(s) would present a burden on any staff member, the Athletic Director may issue an injunction in order to meet the immediate needs of the employee.

GOAL: To provide all UGA Athletic Association employees with a clear and concise understanding of: 1) procedures for obtaining computer support; 2) actions expected of employees; 3) actions which are prohibited by employees; 4), and the penalties that may be imposed by the Administration Office for engaging in said prohibitive behaviors. In addition, this standardizes the rules of the Information Technology Department so that they are introduced, presented, applied fairly, and understood by all employees.
